Organizational City Council Minutes —1/5/04 <br />DRAFT Minutes - Page 18 <br />unless there were obvious dereliction of duties or <br />deficiencies in their service. <br />Councilmember Kough noted that this was a new Council <br />and a new era; opining that as a iuture goal, those policies <br />that everyone concurred with should be pursued; and <br />further opined his preference for the Mayor along malcing <br />appointments and/or reappointments. <br />Mayor Klausing recognized Councilmember Kough's <br />philosophy regarding appointees, but opined his <br />preference for a full-Council appointment to advisory <br />commissions as more beneficial to the City overall. <br />�,I �_�� ��---�_���� <br />It was Mayor Klausing's recommendation that this item be <br />reviewed at a later meeting when there were five opinions <br />to be considered. Councilmembers concurred. �� <br />��_���--� ��-���--��- <br />��� <br />John Kysyl�czyn, 3083 Victoria Street N <br />Mr. F� }��}�1 �� �yn concurred with Councilmember <br />Schroeder's comments regarding the non-existence of <br />Resolution No. 9372, given Council action two years ago <br />overruling the resolution. Mr. Kysylyczyn again <br />challenged the research and information provided by staff; <br />opining that up-do-date applications and resumes be <br />sought, with all positions advertised. <br />Mayor Klausing moved on to the next item, with no <br />further action on this item as noted previously. <br />L Consider City Council Goal-Setting and Team-. Consider City <br />Building Session Council Goal- <br />City Manager reviewed past actions and alternatives for Setting and Team- <br />annual City Council goal-setting and/or team-building Building Session <br />sessions, and sought direction as to Council preference. <br />Councilmember Kough opined that no outside facilitator <br />be used given current budget constraints. <br />Councilmember Maschka opined his preference for a goal- <br />setting, rather than a team-building session. <br />
