Organizational City Council Minutes —1/5/04 <br />Page 14 <br />holding work sessions, opining that staff would "make up" <br />items to put on the agendas, and further opined that <br />Councilmembers would have a difficult time retaining <br />their attention to those issues at hand. <br />Dan Roe, 2100 Avon Street N <br />Mr. Roe suggested that Councilmembers set the dates for <br />their meeting schedule, but allow themselves the <br />flexibility for holding work sessions or regular business <br />meetings by using the standing rules or expanding the <br />business portion of the work session as dictated by issues <br />at hand. _ � � _ ^ _ <br />r```Maschka moved, Kough seconded, approval of the 2004 ��� <br />� City Council meetin� calendar as presented by staff; a � <br />��p}� attached hereto �n� made a part of this record; with q� <br />�staff directed to bring the calendar forward at the end of �� <br />_.r March 2004 for review. � ��,f <br />- - � -- --�� . _ : .�_ � _ _-�-- <br />-� �. <br />Councilmember Schroeder concurred with the review in <br />three months to determine how well the schedule and work <br />session process is working. <br />Mayor Klausing noted that the schedule itself, and the <br />mechanics of conducting meetings, were two separate <br />issues; and directed staff to look at the technical aspects of <br />the work session room and audio configuration. Mayor <br />Klausing further opined his appreciation of those <br />comments provided by the public, and that several <br />deserved further consideration once the full Council was <br />on board. <br />Roll Call <br />Ayes: Schroeder, Maschka, Kough and Klausing. <br />Nays: None. <br />E. Appointment of Planning Commission Chair <br />City Manager Beets briefly reviewed Section 201.04 of the <br />City Code providing for the Planning Commission Chair's <br />annual appointment by the City Council.
