Department Approval REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION Manager Re�iewed: � �� 4 � DATE: 3/29/04 ITEM NO: 3.In Agenda Section: Consent Item Description: Authorization to Erect the City of Roseville Tent in Central Park off Dale Street to conduct the annual Summer Theatre Performance "OF THEE I SING" and a youth drama camp from approximately July 8 through the first week in August, 2004. BACKGROUND For the past four years the Rosetown Playhouse Community Theatre in cooperation with Roseville Parks and Recreation has produced an outdoor summer theatre performance in various locations. The 2004 summer performance is "OF THEE I S IN G and it is anticipated that the performance tent will be set up in Central Park off Dale Street from July 8 through July 31 st for the performance and remain up to conduct a youth drama camp during the first week in August. Staff will work with the Rosetown Playhouse Community Theater Committee to be sure all operations are addressed such as: � Sanitation • Parking � On-site supervision • Security • Traffic management � Noise control POLICY OBJECTIVE The plans for the summer theatre performance and the youth drama camp are consistent with other community events. STAFF RECONIN�NDATION Staff recommends approval of the tent set up in Central Park off Dale Street from approximately July 8 though the first week in August to produce the annual Community Theatre Performance "OF THEE I S IN G and to conduct a youth summer drama camp. COUNCIL ACTION REOUESTED Motion authorizing the tent set up in Central Park from approximately July 8 through the first week in August, 2004 for the purpose of producing the annual summer Community Theatre Performance "OF THEE I S ING, and to conduct a youth summer drama camp with staff review and approval of the final operations plan.
