These performance reports should <br />provide us with a comparison of actual accomplishmentsto the obj ectives approved in <br />the grant scope of work Any issues that may affect a timely close out of the award <br />should be reported at this time. <br />The mid-term progress report is due within 30 days of the end of the first six- <br />months of the performanceperiod. All grantees will be required to submit a final report <br />within 90 days of completion of the grant performance period or the closure of the grant, <br />which ever comes first. <br />Grantees must also agree to provide information, through established reporting <br />channels, to the U. S. Fire Administration's national fire incident reporting system <br />(NFIRS) for the period covered by the assistance. If a grantee does not currently <br />participate in the incident reporting system and does not ha�e the capacity to report at the <br />time of the award, that grantee must agree to provide information to the system for a <br />twelve-month period commencing as soon as they develop the capacity to report. AFG <br />program grantees fr�m previous years will not be allowed to closeouttheir grants until <br />they demonstrate that they are complying with this requirement. Failure to closeout your <br />previous years' grants may affect the consideration of future awards. <br />Excess Funds <br />Occasionally, due to successful competitive bid processes, some grantees have <br />funds remaining after the completion of their obligations outlined above. Grantees that <br />complete the approved scope of work prior to the end of the performance period and still <br />ha�e grant funds available ha�e three options for the use of the excess funds: <br />�� <br />
