Date: 04/03/04 <br />Item: 4.a <br />Honormg Olympic Athletes <br />Roseville Proclamation <br />Honoring Olympic Athletes <br />Apri12004 <br />Whereas: The Olympic Games unite athletes, families, fans and governments from <br />throughout the world; and <br />Whereas: The Olympic Games teach respect, understanding, fairness and good <br />citizenship; and <br />Whereas: More than 10,000 athletes will compete in 28 sports at the Summer <br />Olympics in Athens, Greece on August 13-29,2004; and <br />Whereas: One of those Olympic athletes, diver Sara (Reiling) Hildebrand called <br />Roseville, Minnesota home during her high school years and Sara's parents, Ray and <br />Sandy Reiling, and brother, Scott, still make Roseville their home; and <br />Whereas: The City of Roseville has played an integral part in the Olympic movement, <br />providing training space and hosting several pre-Olympic competitions at the Skating <br />Center; and <br />Whereas: Sara (Reiling) Hildebrand made her diving debut at the Star of the North <br />Games; and <br />Whereas: The City of Roseville promotes physical fitness and good sportsmanship <br />and exercise to develop physical skills and a healthy lifestyle. <br />Now, Therefore Be It Resolved, that the City Council hereby declares Apri12004 as a <br />month to honor former Roseville resident and Olympic diver Sara Hildebrand and all <br />Olympic athletes as they prepare to compete in the 2004 Summer Olympics. <br />In the City of Roseville, County of Ramsey, State of Minnesota, U.S.A <br />In Witness Whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Seal of the City of <br />Ft�S�'�'] �� C L� �� ���] }L�� [�}] � t�7 L� �3�' 0� f��fi � � ���. � ��� � <br />Mayor Craig D.
