City Council Regular Meeting — 05/24/04 <br />DRAFT Minutes - Page 24 <br />9. Appoint Citizen Advisory Commission Members <br />Parks and Recreation Commission <br />City Manager Beets reviewed the rankings and preferences <br />provided by Councilmembers after the application and interview <br />process for two vacancies on the City's Parks and Recreation <br />Commission, and one vacancy on the City's Planning <br />Commission. Mr. Beets requested Council appointment and <br />swearing in as soon as possible to alleviate vacancies on these <br />boards. <br />Councilmember Maschka opined that the implementation of this <br />system appeared to work. <br />Maschka moved, Kough seconded, appointment of Sarah Lenz <br />and Jeff Johnson to the Parks and Recreation Commission for a t <br />3 year term to expire 3/31/07. <br />Mayor Klausing noted the excellent pool of applicants, thanked <br />them for their applications, and encouraged their continued <br />involvement in the community and reapplication as other <br />vacancies occur. Councilmembers concurred. <br />Roll Call <br />Ayes: Maschka, Ihlan, Kough and Klausing. <br />Nays: None. <br />Planning Commission <br />Kough moved, Klausing seconded, appointment of Tammy Pust <br />to the Planning Commission for a 4 year term to expire 3/31/08. <br />Roll Call <br />Ayes: Maschka, Ihlan, Kough and Klausing. <br />Nays: None. <br />10.
