Parks and Recreation Department

, .
{ ., r
 '
..
. r' +
. `•
Memo
.

 `,
+"' _" I
To: Roseville Mayor, City Council and City Manager Mr. Neal Beets
From: Lonnie Brokke, Director of Parks and Recreation
Date: August 16,2004
Re: Budget 2005
The Parks and Recreation staff prepared a 2005 departmental budget that included a
2.8 % operational increase, not including any new contractual obligations and depreciation increases.
Since that submission, in an effort to balance the City Budget, several items of reductions have been
identified by City Manager, Neal Beets. If those identified items were to occur, the RosevilleParks and
Recreation Department would see substantial impacts and adjustments.
Mr. Beet's identified reductions that would be substantial to the Roseville Parks and Recreation System as
we know it today. As Director, I feel that all parties must understand the potential impacts. I have worked
with staff and the Parks and Recreation Commission to identify what impacts there might be and it is
certainly not limited to these items.
Prior to making your decisions, the following is a compiled list of impact statements for you to consider
throughout your deliberations. The first section defines the general "Benefits of Roseville Parks and
Recreation" and is followed by the specifics addressing each of the City Manager's recommendations.
