G. Citv Manger Recommendation # 18 A: Reduction of the Park Improvement Program (PIP) <br />Impact Statements: <br />. Reduction of PIP support may result in the loss of volunteers and diminished committee involvement <br />to support programs like the Arboretum, Natural Resource Management, Community Special Events, <br />Youth Sports Associations, Nature Center. <br />. Projects do not "go-away", they become more expensive the longer they are delayed. <br />• Delaying projects will result in; <br />o Facilities being closed and services being reduced. <br />o Lost revenues due to shelters not being maintained. <br />o Unsafe facilities for athletic programs, natureprograms, general recreation involvement, <br />playground use and other general use. <br />o Closing of boardwalk portion <br />Poorly maintained facilities communicate a lack of concern contributing to a poor community image <br />which leads to decline in use and lost sense of community. A combination of these factors could <br />result in lost Rosevilleproperiy values. <br />11 <br />
