Public Comment about City Issues Public Comment
Mayor Klausing called for public comment by members of the about City Issues
audience on any non-agenda items.
A. A1 Sands, 2612 Aldine
Mr. Sands noted that he had prepared comments related to
those comments made by City Attorney Scott Anderson at
the August 9, 2004 Council meeting, but advised he would
withhold those comments until City Attorney Anderson
was in attendance at a meeting.
Mr. Sands commented on the construction of the Falcon
Heights Town Square redevelopment area at the
intersection of Larpenteur and Snelling Avenues, and his
personal observations related to traffic counts and
aesthetics. Mr. Sands used his observations to suggest to
the City Council that other communities were successfully
accomplishing residential redevelopment; and encouraged
the Council to consider this for the proposed Twin Lakes
Redevelopment Area.
B. Barb Obeda, 2910 N Asbury
Ms. Obeda made reference to her husband Ed's
participation in keeping Roseville beautiful, with him
continuing to spend an average of 5— 6 hours weekly
picking up refuse within the City. Ms. Obeda noted that
recently his efforts had been rewarded by someone driving
by and throwing him a purse with a monetary donation
enclosed for his trouble. Ms. Obeda opined that it "paid to
be a volunteer in Roseville."
Ms. Obeda commented on the proposed Twin Lakes
Redevelopment project, and was opposed to Roseville
residents receiving a tax increase to pay for the project, as
recently reported.
