With 440 <br />agencies signed up to participate, OTS had 93% of Minnesota's law enforcement <br />agencies on board. Each year this moblization has grown and continues to be the <br />largest statewide traffic enforcement effort in Minnesota's history. <br />Of the 440 agencies that were signed up to participate in the May Mobilization, <br />310 agencies reported the following: <br />10,900 seat belt citations were written. <br />Agencies that reported pre- and post-seat belt use survey information, on <br />average, experienced a seven percentage point increase in their belt use <br />rates. <br />Currently, OTS is conducting a statewide scientific safety belt use survey to further <br />measure the success of the May Mobilization. Results from this survey will be <br />available toward the end of July. <br />The City of St. Paul displayed the strongest commitment to the program by writing <br />over 1,700 belt citations.
