Fire Department <br />Medical Direction Oversight Agreement <br />This Agreement is made and entered into this _ day of , 2004 by and between <br />Allina Health System, a Minnesota non-profit corporation, d/b/a Allina Hospitals and Clinics <br />(Allina) located at 167 Grand Avenue, St. Paul, Minnesota 55102 and the City of Roseville, a <br />Minnesota municipal corporation (City), having its offices at 2660 Civic Center Drive, Roseville, <br />Minnesota 55113. <br />WHEREAS, the City through its fire department is engaged in providing emergency <br />response, care, and treatment services to patients within its geographical service area; and <br />WHEREAS, Allina is the ALS and/or BLS service provider in the City's service area and <br />has the personnel and resources to provide medical direction oversight to the City; and <br />WHEREAS, the City wishes to utilize medical direction oversight in the manner and to <br />the extent set forth in this Agreement and the attachments hereto; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the parties hereby agree as follows: <br />Medical Direction Oversight. Allina hereby agrees to provide medical direction <br />oversight to the City throughout the term of this Agreement. For the purposes of this <br />Agreement, medical direction oversight will include: <br />a. approving standards for training and orientation of personnel that impact patient <br />care; <br />b. approving standards for purchasing equipment and supplies that impact patient <br />care; <br />c. establishing standing orders for prehospital care; <br />d. approving triage, treatment, and transportation protocols; <br />e. participating in the development and operation of continuous quality <br />improvement programs; <br />f. establishing procedures for the administration of drugs; <br />g, maintaining the quality of care according to the standards and procedures <br />established under clauses (a) to (�; <br />h. Training as specified in Exhibit A <br />2. Contract Administration. Communications between the City and Allina shall be <br />coordinated though the Education Lead, as designated by Allina, that is assigned to the <br />City. Physician medical direction oversight will be provided through the Allina Medical <br />Director and such other physicians as Allina may contract with from time-to-time for <br />such services. <br />Page 1 o f 3 <br />
