� <br />� � �u�=a�-�ta�e Traiain I� ati���l �onf�a��rt�� <br />� <br />The City will provide funding for out of state training and national conferences according to the following <br />guidelines, funding availability, and approval of the City Manager. <br />National Conferences <br />Each department head may attend a national conference each year. An assistant department head may attend a <br />national conference in lieu of the department head if recommended by the department head and approved by the <br />City Manager. <br />In addition, the following positions may attend one national conference per year: <br />• Deputy Fire Chief <br />• Assistant City Manager or Human Resources Director <br />• �ne of the following: <br />Assistant Public Worlcs Director <br />Assistant Parlcs and Recreation Director <br />Deputy Police Chief <br />Economic Development Specialist <br />Assistant Finance Director <br />Another individual from the same department may attend the national conference in lieu of the above individuals if <br />recommendedby the department head and approvedby the City Manager. <br />Out-of-state Training <br />'� One employee per year may receive funding for an out of state training program, according to the following: <br />` • The training or conference meets priority training needs or obj ectives identi�ed for the individual; and <br />• Similar training is not available locally. <br />Unusual needs or circumstances mar arise which malce it advantageousfor the City to send more than one employee <br />in a given year to out-of-state training . The City Manager will evaluate these situations on a case by case basis. <br />Partial funding (e.g., registration) may be available for an employee to attend out-of-state training or conferences <br />when funding cannot be provided within the budget.
