REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br />Department ApprovaL• Manager Reviewed <br />� � � �� � � <br />Description: Liquor License renewals for the year 2005. <br />Background <br />Date: 11/22/04 <br />Item No.: 8, a <br />Agenda Section <br />I[r�cin�x <br />Staff is in the process of renewing all liquor licenses for the year 2005. The licenses to be renewed <br />include, ten (10) Off-Sale Intoxicating (maximum of 10 allowed by City ordinance), twenty-three <br />(23) On Sale Intoxicating, four (4) Club, nine (9) Wine, sixteen (16) On-Sale 3.2 Non-Intoxicating <br />Malt Liquor, nine (9) Off-Sale 3.2 Non-IntoxicatingMalt Liquor (City ordinance or state statute do <br />not limit the number of the last five types of licenses). The Police Chief has reviewed the records, <br />and finds no reasons for denial of the licenses. The City Attorney will review the applications prior <br />to the issuance of licenses to ensure they are in order. <br />Financial Implications <br />The estimatedrevenue of $193,790 that is generated from the license fees collectedis used to offset <br />the cost of police compliance checks, backgroundinvestigations, enforcement of liquor laws, and <br />license administration. <br />Council Action <br />Motion approving/denying the renewal of the following liquor licenses for calendaryear 2005 with <br />the condition that all required application items be submitted before the licenses may be issued. <br />
