Sergeant Johnson
noted that in-house training of all agencies and departments was
scheduled to begin in July of 2005. Sergeant Johnson advised
that the existing communication equipment was not compatible
with the new 800 MHz system, thus requiring purchase of all
new radios for applicable city departments (i.e. Fire and Police
Departments);with encryption capability for tactical purposes.
Sergeant Johnson noted that radio equipment orders must be
received by the Ramsey County project manager and forwarded
to contract award vendors by the beginning of November 2004;
and equipment vendors must receive orders and deliver product
by the end of 2004 in order to fulfill the requirements of the
federal grant the radio system had been awarded.
Sergeant Johnson reviewed the system and county-wide tax base
Fire Department
800 MHz Radios
for Fire & Police
Departments
