REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION DATE: 1 /24/00 ITEM NO: C-2 Department Approval: Manager Reviewed: Agenda Section: \�_�,(,� � Consent --�( � Item Description: Authorization for Apparel Purchases by Parks and Recreation Department BACKGROUND The Roseville Parks and Recreation Department annually purchases apparel goods for a variety of programs and facilities. These include: . Program and facility staff uniforms . League champion shirts • Youth program shirts i.e. tee-ball, mini-soccer etc. . Special events i.e. Run for the Roses participants, Star of North Games Attached is a detail listing of the programs requiring apparel goods. The following quotations were received: Vendor Total Taho/Saturn Sportswear $22,711 .01 American Promotional Incentives. $23537.08 Angel Industries $25,17$.30 Streamline Design $26,252.55 Signature Sportswear $26,406.00 MECA Fabric Graphics $29 926.30 , Tee Squared $35,802.80 Note: The City has had past very positive experience with Taho/Saturn Sportswear in their ability to deliver the specified products and on time deliveries. POLICY OBJECTIVE The proposed purchase is a part of the approved Parks and Recreation program as stated in the approved 2000 City of Roseville budget. The selection process was per City policy and State Statute. FINANCIAL IMPLICATION The moneys for these purchases are included in the approved 2000 City of Roseviile Parks and Recreation budget. Participant fees pay the entire cost for the appar�! order. STAFF RECOMMENDATION Based on the approved program and the results of the quotations received, the staff recommends that Tahoo/Saturn Sportswear be authorized to provide apparel goods to the Roseville Parks and Recreation Department for 2000. COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED Motion authorizing Tahoo/Saturn Sportswear to provide apparel goods to the Roseville Parks and Recreation Department for 2000 with the moneys to be taken from the Parks and Recreation 2000 approved budget.
