Department Approval: REQUEST FOR COUNCII, ACTION 1�Tanager Reviewed: �- DATE: 3/13/00 ITEM NO. : F - 2 Agenda Section: Reports/Recommendations Item Description: Final Acceptance and Maintenance Responsibility for Utilities and Streets as Constructed for Two Developments; Southwind Development on Albemarle Court and Rosetown Ridge Development on Overlook Drive and Rosetown Court Background: In 1996 the grading and utility work began for Rosetown Ridge Development. The area is located west of Dale Street and south of County Road C. The general contractor performing the work, Arnt Construction, completed the final lift of bituminous surface in late summer of 1999. A final punch list was completed and inspected by City staff in December of that year. The owner has requested the City Council accept the utilities, curb and gutter and street for maintenance purposes. The second location, Southwind Development, located on Albemarle Court south of County Road B, had the utility work started in late summer of 1997. The proj ect was completed in the fall of 1999 and a punch list was completed and inspected by City staff later that year. The contractor performing the work was C. W. Houle. The owner has requested the City Council accept the utilities, curb and gutter and street for maintenance purposes. Policy objectives: City policy requires the following steps to be completed to finalize these construction projects: l. Certification from the Civil Engineer in charge of the project verifying that a11 work has been completed in accordance with City of Roseville plans and specifications. 2. A resolution by the City Council accepting the project and beginning the two-year warranty period. Financial implications: The public work performed on these two projects was paid for by private developers, Rich Kettler and Larry Alm, without a direct cost to the City. Staff recommendation: All public work items have been completed in accordance with the project plans and specifications, and both developers have met the requirements for final project acceptance. Staff recommends the City Council adopt a resolution accepting the utilities, streets, and curb and gutter as constructed in the Rosetown Ridge and Southwind Developments.
