REQUEST FOR COiTNCIL ACTION Date: 03/27/00 <br />Item No.: o-5 <br />DepartmentApprovaL Manager Reviewed Agenda Section <br />��� ��'_�� �" Consent <br />Item Description: Roseville VFW Donation to the Public Safety Function of the City <br />Background <br />The Roseville Chapter of the VFW has contacted City Staff to request permission to donate $14,000 <br />of funds to the City on for specialized infrared thermal equipment for public safety use. <br />In accordance with City donations policy, staff having been notified of a potential donation, has <br />reviewed the request and has determined it to be a suitable in the best interest of the City, to accept <br />the donation. <br />Financial Implications <br />This donation will be treated in accordance with the City's policy on donations. The impact on <br />future operating expenses are expected to be minimal and will be absorbed within the existing <br />public safety budget. <br />Staff Recommendations <br />Staff is recommending that the City Council approve the acceptance of the $14,000 gift to the public <br />safety function of the City. <br />Council Action <br />Motion to approve the donation of $14,000 from the Roseville VFW for the purchase of an infrared <br />thermal device for the public safety function of the City. <br />
