The property owner has met with City staff and indicated they wish to perform many of the repairs by contracting the work out. STAFF RECOMMENDATION. 2.1 Staff recommends that the Council approve abatement of identified City Code violations with costs not to exceed those listed. 2.2 Staff further recommends actions toward repair not be commenced until after August 1, 2000, in order for the property owner to perform the repairs and avoid abatement. Any listed conditions still in violation on August 1, 2000 to be abated by the City (A report will be submitted to Council at the August 7, 2000 meeting with no City authorized work before that date). SUGGESTED COUNCIL ACTION By resolution, authorize the Community Development Director to abate those City Code violations identified in this report, which are still in violation as of August 1, 2000, including: 1) Replace/repair soffits, siding, trim on home and detached garage 2) Guardrail rear entry 3) Complete deck - trim/guardrail 4) Repaint home and detached garage 5) Remove debris/brush 6) Restack firewood 7) Repair/repaint shed 8) Repair concrete stoop 9) Administration (Attorney fees, Code Enforcement inspections) TOTAL: 82,000 250 500 6,500 500 200 750 250 1, 095 (10% estimate) 812,045 Costs are not to exceed those listed. Charges are to be assessed to the property and payment on taxes per City Code 407.06-407.07.
