Resolution No. <br />EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING OF THE <br />CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE <br />* * * * * * * * * * * <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Roseville, County <br />of Ramsey, Minnesota was duly held on the lOth day of April, 2000 at6:30 p.m. <br />The following members were present: <br />and the following were absent: <br />Member introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION <br />Approving By-Law Changes for Roseville Firefighter Relief <br />Association <br />WHEREAS: The Roseville Fire Relief Association Board has requested a number of changes in their By� <br />Laws which provide for an increase in the Fire Pensions and <br />WHEREAS: The City Council believes the Fire Relief request for the By-Law changes are reasonable and <br />WHEREAS: The By-Law changes are within the Plan approved by the City Council on June 29, 1999, and <br />WHEREAS: State Statutes require the City Council by it's authority to approved By-Law changes which <br />affect financial changes in Firefighter benefits. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Roseville, Minnesota, that <br />the following changes to the By-Laws of the Roseville Firefighter Relief Association be approved with the <br />effective date of January 1, 2000.: <br />(1) elimination of the service cap of 30 years on the monthly benefit. <br />(2) increase the temporary disability benefit to 1/30th of the monthly 20 year pension with a maximum of <br />26 weeks. <br />(3) changing the death benefit-due to active duty to 1/lOth of the 20 year service pension and the death <br />benefit from other causes to 1/20th of the 20 year service pension with a maximum of 10 Years. <br />(4) provide for the firefighter 20 year service pension's monthly benefit to be raised to $27 per year of <br />service and the lump sum to increased to $2,700 per year of service. <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member and upon a vote <br />being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br />and the following voted against the same: <br />WHEREUPON, said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. <br />
