The Public Works staff has <br />put together a Pavement Management Plan for the maintenance of these pathways. As a part of this <br />inventory the condition of each path segment basin was rated. 2000 Contract C consists of the <br />rehabilitation of the pathways in Materion & Oasis Park, as well as part of the Lexington Ave Pathway. <br />Bids were solicited during the last part of April and first part of May. The bids for 2000 Contract C- <br />Pathway Paving Project were opened on Wednesday, May 10, 2000. <br />Policy objectives: Based on past practice, the City Council has awarded the contract to the lowest <br />responsible bidder. In the case of the 2000 Contract C- Pathway Paving Project, the lowest bidder is <br />T.A. Schifsky & Sons, Inc. of North St. Paul, Minnesota. <br />Financial implications: We received 8 bids for this improvement. The engineer's estimate for the 2000 <br />Contract C- Pathway Paving Project was $25,75U.00. The low bid submitted by T. A. Schifsky & Sons, <br />Inc is $23,615.50 or 8% lower than the engineer's estimate. The following is a list of the bids received: <br />Contract costs for the 2000 Contract C- Pathway Paving Project are part of the approved 2000 budget <br />and will be funded using the pathway maintenance fund. <br />Staff recommendation: Staff recommends the Council accept the bid and award 2000 Contract C- <br />Pathway Paving Project to T.A. Schifsky & Sons, Inc. of North St. Paul, Minnesota. <br />RECOMMENDED COUNCIL ACTION: <br />Approval of a resolution awarding bid for 2000 Contract C- Pathway Paving Project in the amount of <br />$23,615.50 to T.A.
