REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br />DATE: May 22, 2000 <br />ITEM NO: c-1 <br />DepartmentApproval: Manager Reviewed: Agenda Section: <br />���1�-- Consent <br />Item Description: Resolution for Acceptance of a State of Minnesota Regional Trail <br />Initiative (DNR) Grant for Assistance with City's Portion of Dale <br />St./Reservoir Woods ISTEA Grant. <br />BACKGROUND <br />The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources has notified staff that they have granted <br />$50,000 to the City of Roseville to assist in off setting the local funding requirement s for <br />the ISTEA grant for the Dale St./Reservoir Woods trail project. The grant is from the <br />Regional Trail Initiative Grant Program of the DNR. <br />POLICY OBJECTIVE <br />The grant acceptance is consistent with the policy of partnering with other agencies or <br />organizations to obtain funding to offset the costs of development. <br />FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS <br />There are no additional funding requirements for the City. The City has met all grant <br />matching requirements through the commitments made in the ISTEA grant. <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATION <br />Based on the authorization from the City Council to accept the ISTEA grant, staff <br />recommends the acceptance of the State of Minnesota Regional Trail Initiative (DNR) <br />Grant for $50,000 to assist the City in covering the matching portion of the ISTEA grant for <br />the Dale St./Reservoir Woods pathway. <br />COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED <br />Approval of the resolution accepting State of Minnesota Regional Trail Initiative (DNR) <br />Grant for $50,000 to assist the City in covering the matching portion of the ISTEA grant for <br />the Dale St./Reservoir Woods pathway with no additional matching requirements from the <br />City of Roseville. <br />
