EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING <br />OF CITY COUNCIL <br />OF CITY OF ROSEVILLE <br />RAMSEY COUNTY, MINNESOTA <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Roseville, <br />Minnesota, was held in the City Hall in said C�ty on Monday, May 22, 2000 at 6:30 o'clock p.m. <br />The following members were present: and the following were absent: <br />Council member introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION XXXX <br />RESOLUTION REJECTING BIDS AND ORDERING RE-BID FOR LARPENTEUR <br />AVENUE STREETSCAPE, CITY PROJECT P-SW-99-14 <br />WHEREAS, on December 13, 1999, the City Council approved plans and specifications and <br />authorized the advertisement for bids for Larpenteur Avenue Streetscape project; <br />AND WHEREAS, the bids for this project were opened on Tuesday, May 16, 2000; <br />AND WHEREAS, only one bid was received from Jay Brothers for $2,167,750.05; <br />AND WHEREAS, the project specifications limit the amount of contractor mobilization to 5% of the <br />total project amount, Jay Brothers, Inc. bid includes mobilization of approximately 9%; <br />AND WHEREAS, the bulk of the project is expected to be constructed after September 5, 2040; <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, the Council rejects the bid from Jay Brothers, Inc. opened <br />on May 16, 2000 and; <br />BE IT FURTHUR RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Roseville, Minnesota: <br />The City Manager shall prepare and cause to be inserted in the Roseville Review, the official <br />newspaper, and in the Construction Bulletin, an advertisement for bids. The advertisement for bids <br />for this project shall be published as required by law, shall specify the work to be done, shall call the <br />bids on the basis of cash payment for such work, �hal1 state that the bids will be received by the City <br />Manager and Public Works Director as follows: <br />Larpenteur Avenue Streetscape June 20, 2000, at 11:00 a.m. <br />at which time they will be publicly opened in the City Hall by the City Manager and <br />subsequently be considered by the Council; and that no bids will be considered unless sealed <br />and filed with the Manager and accompanied by a cash deposit, certified check or bid bond <br />payable to the City of Roseville for ten percent of the amount of such bid. <br />
