Minnesota 55113
Re: Landscape Plan Modification
DFA N o 97-144
Dear David:
Based upon our conversation I am enclosing specifications that will allow for the substitution
of native grasses with an erosion control mat to be installed in place of the areas identified as
"sod" on the plan dated 7-31-97.
I would recommend using the short grass seed formula as opposed to the tall grass seed
mix. There is no need to irrigate the area to be seeded. You may, however, want to consider
irrigating the plantings within the parking lot.
Please have your contractor review the specifications and propose the schedule and order of
planting he suggests will allow for the best stand of grass. As I mentioned when we spoke a
few weeks ago, you should be aware that native grasses take a number of years to become
well established and even though they are not manicured in their aesthetic, will require on-
going maintenance. If the landscape installer has any question at all that might impact the
establishment of the slope, or if he has any concerns, please ask him to call us.
If you would like our firm to assist in oversight operations of installation of any site
development aspects, I hope that you will feel free to contact me.
Respectfully,
mon Farber Associates
Damon Fa r FASLA
Principal
DF:d
End : specifications
253 Third Avenue South Minneapolis, Minnesota 55415 (612) 332- 7522 fax (612) 332-0936
