REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br />D A TE : 07/ 1 0/2000 <br />ITEM NO: F- 1 <br />Agenda Section: <br />REPORTS <br />Ite� Description: City of Roseville, request to se112668 Lexington per Housing <br />Replacement Program and Consistent with Comprehensive Plan <br />(PF #3202) <br />1.0 REQUESTED ACTION <br />1.1 George Reiling has requested that Council consider the sale of City owned property located <br />at 2668 Lexington Avenue to him to include in his proposed senior housing development. <br />The property was purchased under the City's Housing Replacement Program in 1998. <br />1.2 Staff is requesting the Council to provide authorization for the City Manager to sign a <br />purchase agreement on behalf of the City for the sale of 2668 Lexington Avenue. The <br />purchase agreement and subsequent sale of the land would be contingent upon approval of a <br />PUD for a senior housing development. The sale price, as determined by an appraisal is <br />$44,000. <br />2.0 BACKGROUND <br />21 The City Council reviewed the request to sell the property to George Reiling at the May 8, <br />2000 Council Meeting and approved the sale of 2668 Lexington Avenue to George Reiling at <br />an agreed upon appraised value with the contingency that the land be used as part of a <br />proposed senior housing development. <br />22 The City hired Dan Dwyer of Dahgren, Dwyer Appraisers to complete a market appraisal of <br />the lot. The appraisal has set the value of the property at $44,000. <br />23 Mr. Reiling is working with senior housing developers to refine plans for a senior housing <br />project north and east of the property and would like to incorporate the City lot into the <br />proj ect. <br />2.4 Upon approval of a purchase agreement, Mr. Reiling will move forward on the formal plans <br />for approval of the project through a PUD review at the Planning Commission and final <br />approval by the City Council. <br />PF3202 - RCA (07/10/00) - Page 1 of 2 <br />
