REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION Date: 07/10/00 <br />ltem No.: F- 3 <br />Department ApprovaL Manager Reviewed Agenda Section <br />��� �\=�� � Reports and Recommendations <br />Item Description: Fiscal Policies <br />Background <br />Policies are normally defined as a course or method of action to guide present and future decisions. It has <br />been the Council's desire to assure that reasonable policies are established and included in the ammal <br />budget document. <br />At the June council work session, staff presented a number of potential policies in general format for <br />discussion. Those policies were separated into three categories: City Operational Policies, Budget policies <br />aud Special Program Policies. (See detail attached) <br />In keeping with our understanding of the Council direction, we are presenting several policies for Council <br />deliberation and if appropriate, approval. <br />Fiscal Implications <br />It is not anticipated that these policies will have any fiscal impact on the City's budget. <br />Staff Recommendation <br />Staff is recommending approval of the attached policies as is determined by the City Council to be in the <br />best interest of the community. <br />Motion <br />Motion to approve the following fiscal policies for inclusion in the 2001 Budget: Tax Increment, <br />Community Participation and Consultation, Collaboration and Cooperation, Community Technology, <br />Legislative Program and Ethical Demeanor and Behavior. <br />
