5.0 PLANNING COMMISSION ACTION 5.1 On July 12, 2000, the Roseville Planning Commission held the public hearing regarding the Sabetti variance request. No citizens were present to address the Commission on the variance request. However, staff indicated they had received an e-mail supporting the request and had a conversation with an adjacent resident concerned about the addition's exterior materials. 5.2 The Commission voted (7-0) to recommend approval of the variance request by Mr. Sabetti, subj ect to the following findings: A. There is a physical hardship (site location) in denying the variance to allow an addition to the existing garage, specifically that the applicant will not be able to use the garage for its intended purpose. B. The physical hardship was not created by the applicant. C. There is a unique (normal and reasonable use) feature to the properry that would justify the variance, specifically the proximately of the e�sting garage to the street. D. There is not a reasonable alternative design that would not require a variance. E. Granting the variance would not significantly impact the health, safety or general welfare of the community. F. Granting of the variance is in keeping with the spirit and intent of the ordinance. 6.0 SUGGESTED CITY COUNCIL ACTION 6.1 By resolution approve (deny) the request by Dean Sabetti for a 20-foot corner side yard setback variance to a11ow an addition to the existing garage (or reconstruction) on property located at 2016 Beacon street, conditioned on the finding stipulated by the Roseville Planning Commission and those additional findings determined by the City Council.
