P�oclamation <br />September 11, 2000 <br />Sara Reiling Day <br />in Roseville <br />whereas: Sara Reiling, a Roseville resident and daughter of Ray and Sandy Reiling, is an acclaimed <br />Olympic athlete who has qualified to compete in the 1 0-meter platform diving competition <br />in the Australian Olympics this year; and <br />whereas: her outstanding diving performances earned her first place honors in the 3-meter <br />competition at the U. S. National Championships and a second place finish in the platform at <br />the U.S. Olympic Trials; and <br />Whereas: her consistent excellence in diving produced a silver medal in the 3-meter board and a <br />bronze medal in platform diving at the 2000 NCAA championships; and <br />Whereas: she was named 2000 Big Ten Diver of the Year in recognition of her all-around diving <br />accomplishments; and <br />whereas: her story of hard work and determination to overcome the back injuries that derailed her <br />promising gymnastics career and to then go on to achieve world class status as a diver <br />serves as an inspiration to other young athletes; <br />Now, Therefore Be It Resolved, that the City Council of the City of Roseville does hereby recognize the <br />achievements of Sara Reiling and that the City Council of the City of Roseville does also recognize the <br />many people who have supported Sara in her quest to be the best in her chosen avocation, including her <br />parents Ray and Sandy, grandparents, siblings, friends, coaches and trainers, and does hereby proclaim <br />September 11, 2000 to be Sara Reiling Day in the City of Roseville. <br />In Wirness Whereof,• I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Sea1 of the City of Roseville to be affixed <br />this 1 lth day of September, 2000. <br />John Kysylyczyn, Mayor <br />SEAL <br />
