DepartmentApproval <br />���,�►. <br />Item Description: <br />1.0 <br />Background <br />REQUEST FOR CITY COUNCIL ACTION <br />Manager <br />Halloween Bon Fire Permit Request from: <br />B& Dale Club, 2100 No. Dale Street <br />D A T E: 09/25/00 <br />ITEM NO: C —1 <br />Agenda Section: <br />Consent Agenda <br />The B& Dale Club has submitted their annual Bon Fire Permit request for Halloween, <br />2000 (Burning Permit Application is attached) <br />The Roseville City Code, Section 404.02 (Open Burning), Subdivision D(Institutional <br />Recreation Burning Permits), states: <br />"The City Council, after review by the Fire Chief and/or Fire Marshal may issue <br />institutional recreation burning permits for schools, social clubs and other organizations, <br />in situations where unique circumstances preclude the ability of the institution to meet <br />the standards of the Code. Conditions may be attached to the permit." <br />The Roseville Fire Marshal has reviewed the request for the bon fire at the B& Dale <br />Club during the time frame of October 3 l, 2000, 6:00 p.m. to November 1, 2000, Noon. <br />Permits have been issued for the past several years and the applicant has complied with <br />any and all conditions set forth relating to the permits. The City Council approved this <br />permit request in 1999 with the condition that the fire not be allowed to smolder or cause <br />any excessive smoke and if the wind speed, at the time of the fire, were in excess of 10 <br />mph, the permit would be invalid. <br />In the past the Council has not deemed it necessary to notify the neighbors in the <br />immediate vicinity. <br />2.0 Staff Recommendation <br />Staff recommends that the Roseville City Council direct the Fire Marshal to issue a <br />permit with the condition as outlined below. <br />B&Dale_2000BonFirePermit.docPage 1 of 2 <br />
