The road grader i s i n need of si gni f i cant mai ntenance and i s no I onger a cost effecti ve tool f or the mai ntenance f I eet due to the avai I abi I i ty of new multi - purpose equi pment avai I abl e today. The repl acerrient for thi s pi ece of equi pment i s pl anned to be a 2011 purchaSe of a tandem truck chassi s wi th a hook system al I owi ng for multiplebody attachments. The revenue f rom thi s sal e woul d be for the purchaSe of a tandem truck wi th snow pl ow se�up and hook system i n 2011. Our eaci sti ng 1997 asphal t patchi ng truck i s schedul ed for repl acernent aswell. Thisasphalt patch truck is used eacclusively for patching six monthsout of theye�ar. We woul d purchaSe a patch body wi th hook system to uti I i ze the same truck chassi s. Wi th thi s repl acerrient pl an, we woul d be el i mi nati ng one vehi cl e f rom the f I e�. POLICY OBJECTIVE To mai ntai n a f ul I f I eet of pl ow equi pment and mul ti -purpose vehi cl es to me� the operati onal and saf�y needs of the City, i n the most cost-effective manner. FI NANCIAL I M PACTS Staff feel s the repai r costs for thi s equi pment woul d not be a cost effecti ve i nvestment to the ci ty. The market for used road graders is currently favorable. Our estimated costsfor new hydraulic I i nes, ti res, cab repai r, sand bl ast & pai nt woul d be $10 —$15,000. The esti mated sal vage val ue i s $20,000 to $30,000.
