These funds will help fund the second phase of Sienna Green, �vhich will create 50 new <br />affordable apaitments for families in Roseville. <br />Phase II of the development will bring greater density to the site and add much needed affoidable two- and <br />three-bedtoom apartments. The newly constructed building will sit on the northwest corner of the lot and <br />provide 50 apartments for those with limited incomes and a community room for all Sienna Green <br />residents. Parking will be underground to preserve outdoor spaces fo� plantings and gathering spaces. <br />There will also be front porches and other design features that p�omote interaction among residents. The <br />mix of apartment size will piovide more diverse housing options for low-wage earners as well as enhance <br />safety and foster a sense of communit�. <br />Phase I involves the rehabilitation of 120 e�sting one-bedroom apartments and site development and <br />reconfigurarion, which will reduce surface parking, maYiinize green space and connect the no�v disparate <br />buildings through walkways. Construcrion began in December 2009 and will be completed in the fall.. <br />IVIN Housing declined to fund Phase II in the last round because it wanted to see more progress made on <br />Phase I. Now that construcrion on Phase I has begun and will be nearly completed before MN Housing's <br />next funding round, Aeon fully expects to receive Housing TaY Credits and the remainder of it's financing <br />in the fall of 2010. The $300;000 in CDBG funds being requested from Ramsey County is an unportant <br />part of making this happen. <br />The City of Roseville has been an impo�tant partner in the Sienna Green project; and we look forward to <br />continuing that partne�ship.
