EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING <br />OF CITY COUNCIL <br />OF CITY OF ROSEVII,LE <br />RAMSEY COUNTY, MINNESOTA <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Roseville, <br />Minnesota, was held in the City Hall in said City on Monday, January 25, 2010, at 6:00 o'clock p.m. <br />The following members were present: Pust; Roe; Johnson; Ihlan; and Klausing and the following were <br />absent: none <br />Councilmember Roe introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION 10781 <br />RESOLUTION OF SUPPORT FOR A <br />STATEWIDE COMPLETE STREETS POLICY <br />AND A MNDOT-LED COMPLETE STREETS PARTNERSHIP <br />WITH LOCAL GOVERNMENTS <br />WHEREAS, the "Complete Streets" concept promotes streets that are safe and convenient for all users, <br />including pedestrians, bicyclists, transit riders, and motor vehicle drivers of all ages and abilities; and <br />WHEREAS, the October 2009 public draft of the Minnesota Department of Transportation Complete Streets <br />Report includes the recommendation: "Mn/DOT should build on existing Context Sensitive Solution practices <br />and develop and implement a statewide Complete Streets policy..."; and <br />WHEREAS, the Roseville City Council recognizes the importance of complete streets, as referenced <br />in its 2009 Comprehensive Plan update; <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Roseville, Minnesota, that the <br />City of Roseville encourages the Minnesota legislature, with input and guidance from the Minnesota <br />Department of Transportation, to authorize the development of a statewide Complete Streets program, that <br />clearly defines Complete Streets as acontext-sensitive approach for design of transportation corridors, that <br />reasonably addresses the safety and accessibility needs of all transportation users and integrates multiple <br />transportation modes, where appropriate. <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember Johnson and <br />upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Pust; Roe; Johnson; Ihlan; and Klausing <br />and the following voted against the same: none <br />Whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. <br />
