<br />Planning Commission Board Meeting <br />City Council Chambers, 2660 Civic Center Drive <br />Minutes - Wednesday, November 05, 2008 <br />1. Call to Order <br />Chair Bakeman called to order the Planning Commission meeting at 6:30 p.m. and reviewed the <br />role and purpose of the Planning Commission. <br />2. Roll Call & Introductions <br />City Planner Thomas Paschke called the Roll. <br />Members Present: Commissioners Thomas Gottfried; Joe Wozniak; Jim Doherty; Barbara <br />Martinson; Daniel Boerigter; and Chair Mary Bakeman. <br />Members Excused: Commissioner Andre Best. <br />Staff present: City Planner Thomas Paschke and Associate Planner Bryan Lloyd. <br />3. Review of Minutes <br />MOTION <br />Member Bakeman moved, seconded by Member Doherty to approve meeting minutes of <br />October 01, 2008 as amended. <br />Ayes: 6 <br />Nays: 0 <br />Motion carried. <br />4. Communications and Recognitions: <br />a. From the Public (Public Comment on items not on the agenda): <br />No one from the public appeared. <br />b. From the Commission or Staff: <br />Commissioner Gottfried requested discussion among Commissioners sometime during <br />tonight’s meeting regarding the City Council’s action regarding zoning category status for <br />HarMar Mall in the Comprehensive Plan Update, contradictory to Planning Commission <br />recommendation. <br />5. Public Hearings <br />Chair Bakeman provided a brief summary of the public hearing process for land use cases before <br />the Commission. <br />a. Project File 0004 <br />Continuation of the Public Hearing for the Update to Roseville’s Comprehensive <br />Plan <br />Chair Bakeman opened the Public Hearing for Project File 0004. <br />City Planner Paschke advised that the proposed schedule, including a Public Hearing at <br />the Planning Commission level and another public comment opportunity at the December <br />15, 2008 City Council meeting, was still on track. Mr. Paschke reviewed responses to- <br />date from adjacent communities; staff’s continued cooperation with those communities in <br />reviewing each entity’s respective Comprehensive Plans; work of Economic Development <br />Associate with consultants in updating maps prior to preparation of the final document to <br />ensure all inconsistencies have been defined; and outside proof-reading of the document <br />before final assembly and submission to the Metropolitan Council. <br />Commissioner Gottfried sought comment from Commissioners Doherty and Bakeman, <br />serving on the Steering Committee, regarding the City Council’s change of the Har Mar <br />Mall designation from Regional Business to Community Business. <br /> <br />
