Planning Commission Meeting <br />Minutes – Wednesday, May 06, 2009 <br />Page 3 <br />antennas and an equipment shelter on the roof of the Eagle Crest building at 2925 <br />Lincoln Drive. <br />Mr. Paschke noted that in April, T-Mobile sought and received the Planning <br />Commission’s recommendation for support of three (3) antennae and an equipment <br />platform on the same building, also approved as a Planned Unit Development (PUD) <br />Amendment. <br />Mr. Paschke noted that this proposal calls for three (3) pair of antennae to be installed for <br />a total of six (6); and that the equipment necessary for operation of the site included a ten <br />by sixteen foot (10’ x 16’) light-weight shelter, ten feet (10’) in height and located on the <br />back roof portion in a symmetrical fashion to the proposed T-mobile equipment platform. <br />Mr. Paschke advised that the shelter would be painted to match the proposed T-Mobile <br />screen wall and have a gabled roof. <br />Staff recommended APPROVAL of the request of AT & T Mobility (in cooperation with <br />Eagle Crest Senior Housing LLC) for a PLANNED UNIT DEVELOPMENT AMENDMENT <br />to allow installation of three (3) telecommunication antennas and an equipment shelter on <br />the roof of the Eagle Crest building at 2925 Lincoln Drive; based on the comments of <br />Sections 4 and 5 and the conditions detailed in Section 6 of the project report dated May <br />06, 2009. <br />Applicant, Mark Hemstreet – Buell Consulting, Inc., Authorized Representative of <br />AT & T <br />Mr. Hemstreet concurred with Mr. Paschke’s summary; and that it was the intent to match <br />paint to the building’s siding and gabled roof to match, as well as the equipment of T- <br />Mobile. <br />Public Comment <br />No one appeared to speak for or against. <br />Vice Chair Boerigter closed the Public Hearing at this time. <br />MOTION <br />Member Boerigter moved, seconded by Member Best to RECOMMEND TO THE <br />CITY COUNCIL APPROVAL of a PLANANED UNIT DEVELOPMENT (PUD) <br />AMENDMENT AT & T Mobility (in cooperation with Eagle Crest Senior Housing <br />LLC) to allow installation of three (3) pair of telecommunication antennas and an <br />equipment shelter on the roof of the Eagle Crest building at 2925 Lincoln Drive; <br />based on the comments of Section 4-6 and the conditions detailed in Section 6 of <br />the project report dated May 06, 2009. <br />Ayes: 6 <br />Nays: 0 <br />Motion carried. <br />Vice Chair Boerigter noted that the case was scheduled to be heard by the City Council <br />at their May 18, 2009 meeting. <br />c. PLANNING FILE 09-011 <br />Request by Pawn America (with Osborne Properties) for CONDITIONAL USE <br />APPROVAL to allow the internal expansion of the existing pawn store at the <br />McCarrons Hills Shopping Center, 1685 – 1717 Rice Street <br />Vice Chair Boerigter opened the Public Hearing for Planning File 09-011. <br />City Planner Thomas Paschke provided staff’s analysis of the request of Pawn America <br />to expand the existing pawn store within the McCarrons Hills Shopping Center at 1685 – <br />1717 Rice Street. Mr. Paschke opined that Pawn America had a good working <br />relationship with the City’s Police Department; had proven a good addition to this <br />shopping center; and indicated that this would be an appropriate expansion with no <br />significant impact to the City or this area of the community. <br /> <br />
