<br />EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING <br />OF CITY COUNCIL <br />CITY OF ROSBVILLB <br />RAMSEY COUNTY, MINNESOTA <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the city <br />council of the City of Roseville, Minnesota, was duly held at the City <br />Hall in said city on Monday, the ninth day of August, 1993, at 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br />The following members were present: Maschka, Cushman, Goedeke, P. <br />Johnson, and V. Johnson and the following were absent: None. <br /> <br />councilperson Cushman introduced and moved the adoption of the following <br />resolution: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 8966 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION REQUESTING MnDOT PARTICIPATION IN <br />COUNTY ROAD C-2/SNELLING AVENUE FRONTAGE ROAD IMPROVEMENTS <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the existing west frontage road of T.H. 51 from Terrace Drive <br />to Lydia Avenue is directly adjacent to T.H. 51, a location which <br />creates serious operational problems at the County Road C-2, T.H. 51, <br />and T.H. 51 frontage road intersection area; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Roseville has developed concept plans to relocate <br />and construct a remote frontage road (Lincoln Drive) approximately 350 <br />feet west of T.H. 51 and remove the inplace adjacent frontage road from <br />south of County Road B-2 to Lydia Avenue and ultimately between Terrace <br />Drive and south of County Road C-2; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Lincoln Drive will provide access to businesses now facing the <br />frontage road, provide access to newly developed properties, provide a <br />local access route between County Road C and Lydia Avenue, and reduce <br />traffic volumes and congestion at T.H. 51 intersections; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, construction of a remote frontage road (Lincoln Drive) will <br />also require construction of a new section of County Road C-2 between <br />Lincoln Drive and T.H. 51, some widening of County Road C-2 east of T.R. <br />51, and reconstruction of the traffic signal at the County Road C-2 and <br />T.H. 51 intersection; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, concepts have been discussed with MnDOT with agreement that the <br />total project is mutually beneficial. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Roseville City Council requests <br />MnDOT to participate in the frontage road relocation project through <br />cooperation and design and plan preparation and through cost sharing. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly <br />seconded by councilperson P. Johnson and upon vote being taken thereon, <br />the following voted in favor thereof: Maschka, Cushman, Goedeke, P. <br />Johnson, and V. Johnson and the following voted against the same: None. <br /> <br />Whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. <br />
