Since the merger of the
two loans the Housing Resource Center have closed 121oans under this new
program.
2.2 On September 20, 2008 the RHRA sponsored an Energy Efficiency Workshop. The
workshop was well attended by over 45 residents of Roseville and many stayed
afterwards and discussed project specific questions to our guest speaker. At the
workshop, it was mentioned that it is wise to have an energy audit done prior to
starting any remodeling or maintenance, as the audit may identify energy saving
opportunities that could be incorporated into the project.
2.3 Based upon the information that was presented at the work shop, staff is making
recommendation to add the requirement that an energy audit be done prior to loan
closing on the Roseville Home Improvement Loan. By adding this criteria, it would
help residents understand their energy consumption and what improvements could be
made to reduce energy usage.
2.4
alternative
in new
One of the RHRA strategic plan goal is:
The HRA will develop sustainable solutions to housing through green
building initiatives.
Develop standards for supporting green building techniques, including the use of
building materials and recycling of building materials (wherever feasible)
construction and rehabilitation.
• Leverage technological advances in the areas of energy and water conservation, natural
drainage systems and wastewater treatment and incorporate them into the design of new and
renovated housing units.
Roseville Home Improvement Loan Program (11-18-08) - Page 1 of 4
