HRA Meeting <br />Minutes – Monday, October 20, 2009 <br />Page 7 <br /> <br /> <br />Mr. Trudgeon advised that staff would include the HRA comments in the draft brought before <br />  <br />the City Council on November 16, 2009; in addition to having another review by the HRA <br /> <br /> <br />Attorney to make sure any revisions as suggested tonight remain consistent with State Statute. <br />  <br /> <br />Motion: Member Majerus moved, seconded by Member Elkins to recommend adoption <br /> <br />of the Housing Improvement Area (HIA) Policy to the City Council as presented by staff <br /> <br />and amended during discussion at tonight’s meeting. <br /> <br /> <br />Ayes: 6 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Nays: 0 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />  <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />11.Information Reports & Other Business (Verbal Reports by Staff and Board Members): <br /> <br />  <br /> <br /> <br />a. Board & Staff Reports <br /> <br /> <br />Living Smarter Fair – February 20, 2010 <br /> <br /> <br />Ms. Kelsey –updated members on the 2010 fair; registration to-date of sponsors and <br /> <br /> <br />exhibitors; quality of outreach and waiting list for exhibitors; challenges this year in <br /> <br /> <br />commitment of ten (10) sponsors due to the economy; ongoing discussions with the Xcel <br /> <br /> <br />Foundation and their rejection of the City’s assistance request this year due to the number <br /> <br /> <br />of requests they’d received; and the leadership of Roseville in the green initiative at the <br />  <br />2009 fair now being duplicated by other metropolitan community fairs, but also creating <br /> <br /> <br />some competition in willing sponsors and vendors. Ms. Kelsey guaranteed members that <br />  <br />staff was continuing to pursue other options, and that this upcoming fair would be bigger <br />  <br />and better; and sought suggestions from individual members for any other ideas to <br />  <br />research. <br />  <br />  <br />Chair Maschka suggested a presentation on geothermal options for private residences that <br />  <br />would provide them with additional information on the various types and what all was <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />involved (i.e., gas backup and heat pump options). Chair Maschka suggested them as <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />sponsors, exhibitors or workshop leaders. <br /> <br />  <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Ms. Kelsey advised that she would specifically solicit potential vendors for such <br /> <br />  <br />opportunity. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Quarterly update to Council – October 26, 2009 <br /> <br /> <br />Mr. Trudgeon advised that, due to City Council agenda items, the quarterly update to the <br /> <br /> <br />City Council had been delayed, and suggested that topics for the update include the multi- <br /> <br /> <br />family study; and that the HIA be considered as a separate agenda items. Chair Maschka <br /> <br /> <br />advised that he would be available for the meeting. <br /> <br /> <br />  <br />12. Future Agenda Items <br /> <br /> <br />None. <br />  <br />  <br />13.
