The goal is to submit the updated <br />plan. to the Metropolitan Council by December 2008. <br />What is a Comprehensive Pian? <br />The City's Comprehensive Plan is a policy guide that provides goals and policies to help <br />direct community change toward a common community vision.. Topics covered by the <br />Comprehensive Plan include future land use, transportation, housing and <br />neighborhoods, the environment, parks and recreation, economic development, and <br />After eight months of undertaking background research, community discussions, and Steering <br />Committee feedback, the planning team completed an initial draft of the Comprehensive Plan Update. <br />The next step in the process is to review each chapter with the Steering Committee and relevant <br />advisory commissions. <br />Transportation, Environmental Protection; and Utilities Chapter Review <br />Attached to this memo are three draft Comprehensive Flan Chapters: Transportation, <br />Environmental Protection, and Utilities. {Other chapters are available online at <br />www.ci.roseville.inn.usi CnmpPlan.) Our project consultants were the primary authors of the <br />Transportation Chapter, while City staff authored both the Environmental. Protection and Utilities <br />Chapters. On July 1.1., the Steering Committee began its review of the draft chapters and the <br />group's comments have been integrated into this revised draft.. (A summary of the Steering <br />Committee discussion has been included with this memo.) <br />When reviewing the chapter, please keep the following questions in mind: <br />1. Do you have serious concerns about any ofthe proposed goals and policies? <br />2. If so, what are they and what changes would you suggest to address these concerns? <br />3. Are there additional goals and policies that should 6e recommended? <br />4.
