27. The City ~i~ill develop a promotion and education plan. <br />27.1. Provide a "safe biking" class in the Community Education. program. <br />27.2. Encourage area cycling shops to support and promote the City's pathway network, <br />27.3. Utilize the OVAL for cycling events both competitive and. educational. <br />27.4. Gather andlor develop educational and. promotional videos for use at schools, promotional <br />events or local cablecasts. <br />27.5. Collaborate with school officials on ways fo educate students on pathway safety and use. <br />27.6. The City will widely circulate pathways plan and maps. <br />27.7. The City will encourage citizen volunteers to aid in pathway maintenance and <br />improvements. <br />27.8. Utilize the City's webpage to educate, inform and promote alternative modes of travel and <br />the Roseville pathway network. <br />ecornnlenda~ion~ <br />The following priority recommendations are intended to direct the City to take the initial action in <br />the development of an appropriate and well-guided pathway network far the community. <br />A) Formally adopt the Roseville Pathway Network Master Plan as part of the City of Roseville's <br />Comprehensive Plan to guide the City in alt pathway-related issues. <br />B) Support the effort to maintain a growing system of pathways through proper funding of <br />equipment, personnel or contracted services. <br />C) With the recommended promotion and continued development of pathway facilities in Roseville <br />should come the dedication and support to maintain the facilities as highly beneficial recreation <br />and transportation amenities. Through the commitment of improved operational maintenance the <br />City is assuring, for the future of Roseville, awell-maintained transportation and recreation <br />pathway network. <br />D) Demand conscientious development through strict policies and standards defining the City of <br />Roseville's goal for pathways and. pathway related issues. <br />E) Create as a component to the Design Review process a checklist of standards that all new or <br />improved properties must abide. Redefine the way development and transportation (all modes) <br />work together. <br />F) Recommend a funding program to implement the Developmen#, Management and Maintenance <br />Operation recommendations laid out in this document. <br />G) Update the Pathway Master Plan at least every five years to review the impact of the Roseville <br />City of Roseville Pathway Master Plan <br />Final Review Draft August 2008 Page 24 of <br />34 <br />
