Falcon Heights City Hall Parking Lot Reconstruction: Work at this site consists of constructing a permeable asphalt pavement parking lot, two rain gardens and related restoration. The contractor is scheduled to start work next week on the parking lot. Mill and Overlay Projects: The following streets will be worked on this summer: • Prior Avenue, (Larpenteur Ave to cul- de- sac) • Maple Knoll Drive, (Fry St to Garden Ave) • Garden Ave, (Fry St to W Snelling Frontage Rd) • Fry Street, {Maple Knoll Dr to Garden Ave) The work consists of primarily street reconstruction and rehabilitation consisting of roadway mill and overlay, concrete curb and gutter repair, watermain replacement, grading, and bituminous paving. Also included are driveway and boulevard restoration. Xcel Energy will start replacing the gas main in this neighborhood prior to the contractor starting work. The road work will begin right after the 4th of July. Ramsey County Projects- (contact Nick Fischer, Project Engineer, 651-266-7191) -County Road B Mill and Overlay- between Snelling Avenue and Cleveland: This work was completed this week. -Rice Street Mill and Overlay- between Little Canada Road and I-694: The County will be performing a Mill and Overlay of this segment of road starting June 22 (next Monday). MnDOT projects {contact Kent Bernard 651-234-7504) Snelling Ave Mill and Overlay (between Hwy 36 in Roseville and I-694 in Arden Hills) Motorists will first encounter delays due to lane closures on Snelling Avenue (Hwy 51) when an extensive resurfacing and repair project begins Monday, June 8. The project, between Hwy 36 in Roseville and I-694 in Arden Hills, includes repairs and resurfacing of the road, in addition to storm sewer repairs, guardrail replacement and construction of new curb and gutter. The project begins between Ramsey County Road C and 1-694. During the initial stage of work, motorists will encounter shoulder and lane closures. The state has indicated that the highway will be completely closed next weekend (June 26 to June 29). I will provide more detail in next week's update. Snelling Avenue will be closed for two weeks in each direction between Highway 36 and Ramsey County Road C. The northbound roadway will be closed first following the July 4 holiday weekend. During the closures, motorists should follow signed detours. Further information will be communicated prior to full closures. The project will be completed in mid- August, weather depending. TH 280 (Highway 36 to I-94): Hwy 280 will be closed in both directions this weekend between Como Avenue and Interstate 35W as work continues on the roadway in Lauderdale and St. Paul. The highway will close from 10 p.m. Friday, June 19 through 5 a.m. on Monday, June 22, so crews can install storm sewer pipes beneath the roadway north and south of the Larpenteur Avenue bridge. During the full closure, there will be no access to Broadway Ave. Traffic will be able to reach southbound Hwy 280 at Como Avenue and the northbound roadway will be open to Como Avenue. Southbound Hwy 280 traffic wilt detour east on Hwy 36 to southbound I-35E and west on I-94. Northbound traffic will detour east on I-94 to northbound I-35E and west on Hwy 36.
