Support for Ramsey County CDBG Application – Rondo Land Trust <br />(HF0043) <br /> <br /> <br />Executive Director Bennett introduced Greg Fin zell with the Rondo Community Land Trust to <br />discuss the request of HRA support for Rondo’s application for funding to Ramsey County in <br />2005. <br /> <br />Greg Finzell of Rondo explained the program. <br /> <br />Member Kelsey asked how the Rondo program compares to the HRA’s support of the Greater <br />Metropolitan Housing Corporation (GMHC) programs. Finzell noted that GMHC and Rondo <br />work closely together and that their programs and missions complement each other. Rondo <br />occasionally hires GMHC to rehab the homes they purchase. <br /> <br />Member Elkins explained that she is familiar with Rondo and that they are a very successful land <br />trust approved by Fannie Mae. The program keeps homes affordable. <br /> <br />Member Kelsey asked for details regarding home buyer pre- and post education process. Finzell <br />explained the very detailed a nd required education process. <br /> <br />Motion: Member Elkins moved, seconded by Member Bean, to support the Rondo <br />Community Land Trust application for Ra msey County CDBG and HOME funds for <br />2006 and direct staff to prepare a support le tter to distribute the Ramsey County HRA <br /> <br />Ayes:5 <br />Nays: 0 <br />Abstain: 1 – Millasovich as she works closely with Rondo clients as part of her position with St. <br />Paul Public Housing Authority. <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br /> <br />9. Demographic Update – Hazel Reinhart Information <br /> <br />Community Development Director Dennis Welsch provided a summary of the demographic <br />information presented by Hazel Reinhart. <br /> <br />b. Board and Staff Reports <br /> <br />Director Bennett reminded the member on the Home & Garden Fair on February 25, 2006 <br />and handed out 2006 map books for the members. <br /> <br /> <br />10.
