RHRA_ marketing (051606) - Page 1 of 1 <br /> REQUEST FOR HRA ACTION <br />Date: 4-18-06 <br />Item No: 9.b. <br />Staff Approval: Agenda Section: <br />CB DISCUSSION Item Description: Update on Mark eting HRA Loan Programs (HF0037) <br />1.0 Background: <br />1.1 The RHRA agreed to use existing marketing funds for a direct mail campaign regarding <br />City renovation loans in partnership with MHFA . After further review, MHFA is out of <br />fund for 2006 for marketing and will not receive new funds until late summer. After <br />discussions with the Housing Resource Center staff it was agreed that the marketing <br />effort would not be as effective if we waited until late summer. Therefore, it was decided <br />to cover the full cost of the direct mail campaign out of existing HRA marketing funds. <br />1.2 The mailing (attached) will be sent next week and will reach 6,641 properties that are <br />single family homes with assessed value for 2006 at or below $300,000. The mailing and <br />printing cost will be approximately $2,300. The Housing Resource Center has designed <br />the mailing card and arranging for the bulk mailing. <br />1.3 This is within the existing marketing budget and is provided for your information.
