REQUEST FOR HRA ACTION
Date: 05-17-05
Item No: 7.c.
Staff Approval: Agenda Section:
CB Action
Item Description: Consider Modifications to the Roseville Housing Redesign Program
(HF6)
HRA ACTION REQUESTED
1.0
1.1By motion, adopt suggested modifications to the attached Roseville Redesign Program
effective immediately.
2.0PROGRAM PURPOSE:
2.1The Roseville Housing Redesign Program includes the following goals:
Encourage homeowners to put professional design, value, and utility back into the
City’s older housing stock (pre 1980) and to discourage additions that do not blend
and add aesthetic appeal to the existing structure.
(defined as household of three or more with one minor child
Assist families
under the age of 16)
who would like to remain in Roseville and create an adaptable
home for their family and a more marketable home for the next owner.
Adding new front entries to create more street appeal and encourage more neighbor to
neighbor interaction.
3.0ROSEVILLE REDESIGN PROGRAM SUGGESTED MODIFICATION:
3.1In November 2003, the HRA modified the previously named Rambler Redesign Program to
include additional eligibility criteria which helps to ensure that the goals of the program are
achieved. The intent of these changes was to more accurately provide a method to attract
and retain middle income families who want to move to or stay in the community but desire
currently
a more modern home. The eligibility criteria is as follows:
Required to be eligible:
1.
Home must have an existing Ramsey County assessed value at or below
$200,000. - Required
2. - Required
Home must be 25 years or older (built in 1979 or before).
Housing Redesign Program amendment (05-17-05) - Page 1 of 2
