<br />REQUEST FOR HRA DISCUSSION <br />Date: 5 <br />-17-05 <br />Item No: 8 <br />.b. <br />Staff Approval: Agenda Section: <br /> Discussion <br />CB <br />Item Description: Summary of Senior Survey for Applewood Pointe (HF0029) <br />Background <br />1.0 <br />1.1The HRA Board approved a senior survey to be completed by new senior housing project <br />residents. The survey was forwarded to the Applewood Pointe residents. The following <br />is a summary of the results of that survey. <br />With a total of 92 units - 80% of the residents returned a survey <br />1.Did you move to this development from a home in Roseville? <br />53% moved to the Applewood Pointe project from Roseville and 47% moved from <br />outside of Roseville. <br />Of the 39 residents from Roseville who moved into Applewood Pointe, 87% moved from <br />a single family home and 13% moved from a multifamily condo or townhome. None of <br />the residents previously lived in an apartment. <br />2.Did you sell your previous home prior to moving to Applewood Pointe? <br />98% of the Roseville residents sold their home prior to moving into Applewood Pointe. <br />Only one homeowner did not sell their home and there was no other indication as to what <br />they did with that home. <br />67% used a Realtor to sell their home, 28% did not use a Realtor and 5%, 2 homeowners, <br />worked with GMHC through the Senior Housing Regeneration Program. <br />Seven homeowners did consider the Senior Housing Regeneration Program and 2 of <br />those sold their home under this program. <br />The five homeowners who did not sell to GMHC cited the following reasons: <br />2 – offer was too low <br />o <br />1- GMHC noted that they were out of funding <br />o <br />1 – GMHC never responded <br />o <br />1 – son took over selling of home and did not want to work with GMHC <br />o <br />Others that did not consider using the program cited the following reasons: <br />5 – was not aware of the program <br />o <br />3 – realtor was a friend <br />o <br />RHRA_ applewood senior housing survey results (5-17-05) - Page 1 of 4 <br /> <br />
