Staff Approval: Agenda Section: Discussion CB Item Description: Summary of Senior Survey for Applewood Pointe (HF0029) Background 1.0 1.1The HRA Board approved a senior survey to be completed by new senior housing project residents. The survey was forwarded to the Applewood Pointe residents. The following is a summary of the results of that survey. With a total of 92 units - 80% of the residents returned a survey 1.Did you move to this development from a home in Roseville? 53% moved to the Applewood Pointe project from Roseville and 47% moved from outside of Roseville. Of the 39 residents from Roseville who moved into Applewood Pointe, 87% moved from a single family home and 13% moved from a multifamily condo or townhome. None of the residents previously lived in an apartment. 2.Did you sell your previous home prior to moving to Applewood Pointe? 98% of the Roseville residents sold their home prior to moving into Applewood Pointe. Only one homeowner did not sell their home and there was no other indication as to what they did with that home. 67% used a Realtor to sell their home, 28% did not use a Realtor and 5%, 2 homeowners, worked with GMHC through the Senior Housing Regeneration Program. Seven homeowners did consider the Senior Housing Regeneration Program and 2 of those sold their home under this program. The five homeowners who did not sell to GMHC cited the following reasons: 2 – offer was too low o 1- GMHC noted that they were out of funding o 1 – GMHC never responded o 1 – son took over selling of home and did not want to work with GMHC o Others that did not consider using the program cited the following reasons: 5 – was not aware of the program o 3 – realtor was a friend o RHRA_ applewood senior housing survey results (5-17-05) - Page 1 of 4
