Possible Action Steps <br />c.: - evaluated annually for implementation within <br />budget resources <br />community pride statement and promotional package <br />i.Adopt a <br />that can be presented to apartment owners for inclusion in their <br />tenant information similar to the new resident packet. The <br />educational campaign can include ways that a renter can become <br />involved in their schools, city programs and area social gatherings. <br />Encourage renters to choose Roseville over the long term by <br />providing access to resources (whether other rental option or a <br />buying option) to stay in the community. Longevity <br />encourages stability for renters as well as owners. <br />ii.Create a neighborhood and\or rental ombudsman – a first key <br />contact for new residents renting in the community <br />iii.Invite the Crime Free Multifamily Association to meet with the <br />HRA Board and the fire and police departments to discuss possible <br />joint ventures, especially related to life safety and disaster <br />planning. <br />iv.Invite the City Park and Recreation Commission to begin programs <br />targeted specifically at residents of rental housing with first year <br />planning and seed money from the HRA. The HRA Board should <br />meet with the Park and Recreation Commission to discuss possible <br />joint ventures. <br />v.Create an Annual Roseville Rental Housing Fair to promote the <br />safety, livability, and importance of rental housing within <br />Roseville. <br />vi.Because there is a higher use of public transit by rental housing <br />residents, invite the City Public Utilities and Transportation <br />Commission and the Metropolitan Council’s Public Transportation <br />and Transit Agencies to meet annually with the HRA Board to <br />discuss possible joint ventures. <br />vii.Invite the Roseville Block Nursing Program to meet with the HRA <br />Board to discuss possible joint ventures, especially as relates to the <br />senior rental population and their health problems. <br />viii.Invite the ten Church Senior Housing Collaborative to meet with <br />the HRA Board to discuss improving the “template” for <br />cooperative housing and possible joint ventures. <br />ROSEVILLE MULTIFAMILY HOUSING REPORT 10/19/04 APPENDIX <br />
