On September 12, 2003 City Code <br />Enforcement Officers Rick Talbot and Don Munson inspected the exterior of the structure. <br />Conditions observed included: <br />11.Missing bricks and mortar on the chimney. <br />12.Expanding areas of peeling paint on siding, windows and trim surfaces. <br />13.Holes had been chewed and/or clawed by rodents to gain access. <br />14.Trim around windows had fallen off. <br />15.Many holes and rotted trim areas had been filled with a foam product. <br />16.Broken and missing window glass was observed. <br />17.A front yard light with the fixture missing and wires exposed. <br />The conclusion of this inspection is that the structure is in violation of City Code Section 407.02 <br />J Building Maintenance and 407.02K Building Standards. Repairs that must be completed within <br />90 days include: <br />1.The chimney must have missing bricks and mortar repaired/replaced. <br />2.All rotted siding, trim, and window molding must be removed and replaced with new <br />members (spray foam is not an acceptable product). <br />3.All broken or missing window glass must be replaced. <br />4.Rodent holes must be permanently closed and any nesting rodents removed. <br />5.All exterior peeling paint and/or new trim must be painted. <br />6.The yard light must be repaired or removed. <br />In conclusion, this structure is in violation of the State Building Code as an Unsafe Structure, it’s <br />Certificate of Occupancy has been revoked and it must be repaired or demolished within 90 <br />days. In addition, the structure is in violation of City Code as a Public Nuisance and these repairs <br />must also be completed within 90 days. <br />Ms. Wu, I understand this is a significant issue, if you are at all unclear about what is specifically <br />required to constitute compliance, please contact me so that we may meet on site to further <br />discuss this matter.
