MINUTES OF GLWMO
OCTOBER 25, 2001
PAGE3
E-3 Future Consultant Needs
There was a general discussion about how the WMO's future needs could be
addressed by in-house technical resources (i.e. City staff) vs. outside consultants.
Mark Maloney provided an overview of how the City staff and consultants have
interacted in the past for GLWMO projects and initiatives. It was recognized that,
for the immediate future, the normal day-to-day function of the GLWMO would
continue to be carried out by City staff. Some ideas for future consultant services
include:
-a review of existing pond design and/or maintenance policies to maximize
efficiencies, especially as it relates to City-managed ponding areas
-compiling Ramsey County data, and creating/managing databases used for lake
water quality trends
-third party or outside review of City activities for the purpose of the Agency
Report Card
-website development/maintenance
It was determined that the Board continue the discussion of these ideas at the
next meeting.
F. ADJOURN -The meeting adjourned at 6:50 p.m.
Next Meeting -January 24, 2002
