Item 7
Announcements
•
For Immediate Release Contact: Lt. Lorne Rosand
Date: Thursday, February 25, 2010 651-792-721 l
PRESS RELEASE
•
On Tuesday, February 23, 2010, the Roseville Police Department released pending further
investigation, the 17-year old suspect who was arrested by police on probable cause aggravated
assault charges on Saturday, February 20 at Rosedale Center.
This youth was released from tl~e Ramsey County Juvenile Detention Center and transferred to a
Ramsey County Juvenile Corrections Facility to serve time on an unrelated previous offense.
Investigative follow-up on this case has been difficult since there were a number of witnesses
who needed to be identified and formally interviewed. During the course of this investigation,
detectives report many of these witnesses were reluctant to provide statements to authorities.
Investigative detectives report much of their time on Monday and Tuesday was spent reviewing
Rosedale Center surveillance digital imaging, printing the imaging and then later attempting to
identify youths involved in Saturday's assault incidents at the mall.
The 18-year old victim who suffered facial lacerations was released from hospital care earlier this
week and expected to make a full recovery.
The 16-year old stabbing victim is currently recovering at a Local hospital. This youth is in stable
condition.
With this case still in an active status, no information on the adult victim or video imaging will be
released to the media.
If anyone wi~:nessed or has additional information on Saturday's assault incidents at Rosedale
Center,. they are encouraged to call the Roseville Police at 651-792-700$.
The Roseville Police Department considers Saturday's assault incident active and plans on
presenting their hill investigation to the Ramsey County Attorney's Office for charging
consideration in the coming week.
•
