The Lake Wabasso loading from Lake Owasso is over predicted in the original
and current models.
The total loading to American Legion Pazk Pond and Lake Owasso is much
lower in the current model due to higher removal efficiency estimates in
Bennett Lake and reduced tributary azea loading.
Monitoring data for the lakes from MPCA's STOREY reference (1971-1993)
shows a higher current phosphorous level than was assumed in the original
lake response data.
Major recon-:mendations:
The GLWMO should proceed with the three BMPs for Owasso, Wabasso,
and Snail Lakes as recommended by BARB (1991).
The Boazd should lower its expectations for significant lake response to
BMPs as presented in the BARB Study (1991).
2. Lake Water Quality Planning
Joel Schilling, Senior Scientist-Limnologist reviewed the findings on Lake Owasso
and what recommended management measures should be considered.
3. American Legion Pond Project
Lobermeier summarized the project status. Plans and specifications aze complete.
Bid opening is scheduled for February 9, 1995. Award of bid is scheduled for
February 13; 1995. Weather could be a deterrent.
Board directed staff to have informational. signs installed during construction
informing the public of the improvement and that it is being constructed to
improve lake quality of Lake Owasso by GLWMO.
E. Bills
E-1 Meyer moved that the Board approve the following invoices to be paid by the
GLWMO:
SEH Miscellaneous water resources services $990.47
Services for the period ending Apri123, 1994
(not processed at July 28, 1994, meeting)
,.
SEH Miscellaneous water resources services $663.63
Services for the period ending October 31, 1994
