We v~Till meet ~~ith the
Technical Advisory Committee prior to the January 26, 1995 GLWMO Board Meeting to
discuss the report in detail. A brief presentation regarding the major conclusions and
recommendations of the report will be made at the meeting.
Major Conclusions
The Grass Lake WMO XP-SWMM simulation is at the cutting edge of BMP modeling
in the country.
2. The Snail Lake loadings are nearly twice those originally predicted.
The Lake Wabasso loading from Lake Owasso is over predicted in the original and
current models.
4. The total loading to American Legion Park Pond and Lake Owasso is much lo~rer
in the current model due to higher removal efficiency estimates in Bennett Lake and
reduced tributary area loading.
5. Monitoring data for the lakes from MPCA's STOREY reference (1971 - 1993) shows
a higher current phosphorous level than was assumed in the original lake response
data.
Major Recommendations
The GLWMO should proceed with the three BMPs for Owasso, Wabasso and Snail
Lakes as recommended by BARR (1991).
The Board should lower its expectations for significant lake response to BMPs as
presented in the BARR (1991) Study.
