Five groups are represented on the
panel: two state agencies (the Minnesota
Department of Health (MDH) and Minnesota
Department of Natural Resources (DNR));
and three geology-oriented organizations
(the Minnesota Groundwater Association
(MGWA), the Minnesota Chapter of the
American Institute of Professional Geologists
(AIPG), and the innesota Exploration Asso-
ciation (MEA). Current members of the
advisory board are Sarah Tufford of DNR,
Bruce Olsen of MDH, Rita O'Connell of
GWA, Gary Van Guilder of AIPG, and Emie
Lehmann of MEA. All will serve two to three
year terms.
The purpose of MGMAP is to provide broad
input to the MGS's director on all aspects of
prepara~or~ and use of geological maps,
including prioritization of mapping projects
and long-term input into the entire state
geological mapping process, particularly from
the user's point of view.
